Travel-Care is international travel cover provided to Turnberry policyholders and is automatically included in most of our policies included in this website. An innovative and unique travel insurance policy ensuring end to end emergency assistance by air, land or sea, around the world and around the clock.

Benefits

1. Emergency Medical and related expenses

The benefit provides for emergency medical treatment and expenses incurred for admission to hospital and an out-patient facility where necesary.

2. Medical Transport and evacuation

Emergency medical transportation to a medical facility to obtain necessary treatment and/or repatriation to your country of residence will be arranged by Netcare 911.

3. Visit by family member

If travelling alone and you are hospitalised, the cost of reasonable accommodation and tavelling expenses incurred by a spouse or next of kin will be covered (if advised by a medical practioner appointed by Netcare 911). The spouse or next of kin will remain with you until you are fit to resume the journey or to return to your country of residence.

4. Return of children

If children travelling with you are left stranded in the event of your hospitalisation, repatriation or death, arrangements will be made to transport the children back to their country of residence with an escort if necessary. The cost of this benefit is covered by the policy.

5. Burial, cremation or return of mortal remains

In the event of your death, reasonable costs in respect of funeral, burial or cremation expenses will be covered in either the country where death occurred or to return the body or ashes to your country of residence.

International Travel Procedure

  1. Turnberry must be notified 48 hours prior to departure from South Africa on 0861 000 509, from Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) between 08h00 and 16h00.
  2. You woul be required to complete an application form, which will be submitted to Oraclemed, who will issue you with a certificate. A separate application form is required for each person travelling.
  3. Failure to notify Turnberry will result in no benefits and no claims will be paid.
  4. All benefits are subject to terms and conditions of the International Travel Policy wording.
  5. All travellers are advised to read their policy wording noting the conditions and exclusions.
  6. Should a member require emergency medical treatment whilst overseas, the member needs to immediately notify NetCare 911 control xentre on +27 11 254 1387. Failure to notify NetCare 911 will make the member liable for expenses in excess of R1,000.
  7. All eligible international accounts will be settled directly by NetCare 911.
  8. Any elective / planned procedures will not be covered outside of South Africa.
